Responsibilities
- Work on the serving and reporting infrastructure for Twitter's current and future advertising products.
- Build intuitive user experiences and dashboards using Java, Scala, Ruby and Javascript that give our developers and advertisers real-time insight into the performance of our advertising products.
- Use technologies like Storm and Hadoop to process 100s of thousands of requests per second and petabytes of data to compute and improve the performance of our products.
- Work with open source technologies and have the freedom to contribute back upstream (https://github.com/twitter).
- Work closely with product managers, designers and other engineering teams to define new advertising features and products.
Requirements
- Strong algorithms, data structures and coding background
- Experience with some or all of web infrastructure, distributed systems, databases, machine learning, data analysis, and visualization
- Experience with software engineering best practices (e.g. unit testing, code reviews, design documentation)
- B.S. or higher in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience)
Desired
- End-to-end experience in online ad serving and background in online advertising/auction theory
- Experience with Hadoop
- Experience with Rails
