SQL Server & Oracle Database Administrator
Tetra
Tech is a looking for a self-motivated, skilled Database Administrator.
This position initially will require 70% SQL Server and 30% Oracle
database administrative duties and will adjust over time. It requires
someone who is a senior level SQL Server DBA and a mid-level Oracle DBA.
This position would be the link between the application and business
teams and will facilitate database migration, consolidation, and daily
system support from various offices into Enterprise Database Farms.

Minimum Requirements
Candidate shall have bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems or minimum four years of technical experience in database administration or other technical field. Also, required to have four or more years of database administration experience in Microsoft SQL; two years of Linux Oracle database administration. Candidate should have sound time management and planning skills, good oral and written communication skills; and as needed manage small to medium size database projects in conjunction with working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

Job Essentials
Microsoft SQLSERVER
o Installation, Administration and Maintenance of SQL Server Instances(2005-2012)
o Troubleshoot various problems that arise in a day-to-day work and fix issues
o Monitoring Server Error Logs and check email alert or configure email alerts
o Create Users and assign permissions (internal or via active directory roles)
o Create Linked Servers to SQL Servers and other databases such as Oracle, Access, Mysql
o Design or Enhance database Backup, Recovery Strategy, and Monitor their activities
o Ability to Setup database failover, Clustering, Mirroring, Log Shipping and Replication
o Develop, implement, and monitor performance tuning tasks ( understand PowerShell)
o Documenting changes and follow change control
o Clone Development, Test, and Staging environments from Production instances
o Troubleshoot and solve various problems that arise in a daily DBA lifecycle.
o Execute schema and code promotions Dev ->Test ->QA ->Prod
o Keep databases in synch ( replication , backup / restore , log shipping , Data Guard)
o Works
with application development staff in order to enforce standards, and
quality assurance policies and procedures as it pertains to accessing
corporate databases
Oracle Database ( additionally to Sqlserver)
o Experience in Linux or Unix operating systems
o Comfortable using vi or other non-gui programs and scripts
o Installation, Administration and Maintenance of Oracle Database Rel 11g – 12g
o Understanding and ability to navigate Oracle WEBLogic console
o Understanding Oracle RAC and ability to troubleshoot is desirable
o Working knowledge is a plus in various scripting languages (Perl, ksh, bash, php, JS)
o Oracle ERP knowledge is a plus and R12 is highly desirable or recommended
o Working knowledge of Oracle PL*SQL ( ability to write and debug)
