  • Investigates and mitigates all classes of data breaches to ensure Paychex data integrity and compliance with state laws.
  • Investigates inappropriate use of Paychex assets in order to support Human Resources or Corporate Counsel research.
  • Investigates network intrusion attempts perpetrated against Paychex by internal and external sources to ensure data integrity.
  • Evaluates and analyzes potentially malicious software to develop detection and prevention processes.
  • Investigates and communicates newly discovered threats and vulnerabilities to appropriate Paychex personnel for awareness and resolution.
  • Participates in Information Technology related projects to ensure industry best practice and Paychex internal security standards are being met.
  • Leads computer forensic investigations to provide necessary data to Human Resources and Corporate Counsel.
  • Provides metrics and trending data surrounding data security breaches to ensure Paychex has a good understanding of their security risk environment
  • Develops and communicates time sensitive security bulletins for training and awareness to Paychex employees alerting them to potential external threats.
  • Provides counsel, advice and guidance to junior level SIU Analysts in order to share knowledge.

Qualifications

 
Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Forensics, Computer Science, or Information Technology is preferred and 3 to 5 years of experience.  An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Overview

Validates requirements, performs analysis and design for system improvements and new applications. Represents the department by leading work and providing guidance to others.
Responsibilities

  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer related discipline or equivalent work experience
    • 3 years of experience working with Salesforce.
    • Salesforce Admin or Dev cert preferred. 

    Compensation

    In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $93,590-$136,690 annually. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.

    • Drives corporate strategy around performance, configuration and deployment of applications across the company. Leads efforts in driving continuous improvement, benchmarks and monitors application and infrastructure performance in a matrix environment to ensure the world class levels of performance in Paychex’s application portfolio.
    • Drives corporate strategy around process and tools for the Software Development Life Cycle, Environment Management, and Release Management, ensuring a robust framework and smooth process of Software release management and stability as Paychex rapidly grows as a SaaS provider.
    • Directs the management of release, change and configuration management members, focusing on the modifications that are made to OS software, customized in-house developed software and third party application software that are in various stages of the SDLC such as:  under development, functional test, UAT Test, Alpha Test, Beta Test, Production to ensure a seamless delivery of Paychex applications into production.
    • Responsible for the strategy and communication of the software release process, and for transforming the organization to a seamless continuous release process more aligned with the SaaS company we are transforming to.
    • Leads the transformation of Build Process and Deployment Automation to ensure a highly scalable and reliable software release process aligned with a world class SaaS company. Recruits, selects, hires, evaluates, and ensures training of staff management and personnel to meet the needs of the Release, Configuration, Change Management, Build/Deployment Process, Performance, and Virtualization strategies for Paychex. Coaches and develops the management leadership team for personal and corporate advancement through training programs, partner conferences, workshops and other educational resources which ensures up to date training of the staff.
    • Fosters and maintains high level relationships with the senior managers of the business units to provide the client with cost competitive, high value solutions by improving application quality, environment management, change management and deployment management, automating these processes with a goal of reducing time to market.
    • Develops the annual expense and capital budgets used to control organizational spending across several departments, guiding managers on effective spending to ensure cost controls. Maintains a best of class knowledge base in Performance and Release Management techniques in order to lead the organization to consistently provide high quality product releases in the least amount of time by utilizing best practices.
    • Leads efforts to identify critical areas within the enterprise of Paychex applications for both manual and automated performance testing improvements to ensure effective use of people and system resources.
    • Ensures manual and automated test scripts are easily maintainable and are highly re-usable by the entire test organization to benefit the regression test cycle phase of the project.
    • Advises and supports software test management in leading Go/No Go decisions to release solutions to production within Information Technology for our business unit partners. Coordinates the creation of meaningful performance results and enterprise Quality metrics to allow informative Go/No Go decisions to be made regarding quality launches.
    • Pro-actively works and maintains positive relationships with the business units to provide the client with cost competitive, high value solutions by improving application quality and reducing time to market.

    Qualifications

     
    A minimum of 10 years of experience in Information Technology and a minimum of 10 years in manager/supervisory responsibilities or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
     
    • Process improvement experience in a large IT environment is beneficial.
    • Knowledgeable with process improvement techniques: ITIL, Lean Six Sigma, CMMI, Automation. Familiarity with IT SDLC Tools and Repositories: Quality Center, Quick Test Professional, Service Center, Hudson, Sonar, PPM.
    • Familiarity with PC, Windows, UNIX, Web and Citrix environments.
    • Technical familiarity with Java and .NET, programming experience.
    • Familiarity with Payroll, Human Resource, and Employee Benefit industries.
    • Detailed technical knowledge on virtualization:  Server, Component, Database, Application. In depth knowledge of EMC/VMware and all of its products.
    • Familiarity with converged, vs. traditional platforms and processes around maintenance and management of those platforms. Knowledge and benefits of Cloud capabilities, and differences between:  Private, Hybrid, and Public.
    • Ability to set and execute the strategic vision around taking an organization from traditional physical to cloud and virtual, including not only the technical strategy, but process strategy as well.
