Overview:
The Feature Team Lead Manager/Director delivers
features that are meaningful to the customer and consistent with the
product vision through the management of a team of software engineers.
The Feature Team Lead Manager/Director is responsible for ensuring that
the backlog of work for the team is well-defined with respect to scope,
clarity of requirements, and acceptance criteria; that the team’s
execution approach is operating effectively; that all production
deliveries meet acceptance, operational, and quality criteria; and that
they provide ongoing optimization and maintenance of their features
post-release. In addition to the technical and execution leadership of
the team, the Feature Team Lead Manager/Director has full managerial
responsibility and oversight for a cross-functional group of engineering
personnel, including the full employee lifecycle, performance reviews,
and career management.
Responsibilities:
- Guide, mentor, motivate and develop direct reports to help shape their career paths
- Accountable for all architectural, technical, functional, performance, and operational aspects of the team's areas of responsibility
- Own end-to-end feature delivery, having a business owner mindset, understand the business drivers of each feature, balance the needs of the business, and needs of internal, external stakeholders and customers.
- Communicate effectively within the team and with all stakeholders by providing high quality visibility into planned and actual deliverables.
- Ensure product quality through effective monitoring of quality trends, test automation, defect tracking and root cause analysis.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of software development experience
- 2+ years of technical management experience
- BS or MS in Computer Science preferred or equivalent experience
- Experience with Agile software development methodology
- Successfully demonstrated substantial cross-functional leadership in both technical and management areas
- Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated success in a team-based environment
- Strategic in execution: setting goals that align with business, aggressively achieving those goals
- Possesses a strong action and results orientation with the ability to work independently, be self-motivated and proactive in driving team objectives.
- Travel Industry and ecommerce knowledge a plus
