Summary
TSYS Loyalty & Prepaid is looking for an experienced PL SQL / DBA developer to design, develop, test and tune high volume, financial services batch operations based on Oracle 10G and 11G. Responsibilities include the design and development of PL SQL packages / procedures, functions, triggers, views, etc., database schema design and tuning of a variety of mission-critical batch oriented applications. Candidates must be able to deliver within established timelines and must have strong organizational & communication skills.
Responsibilities
Under little to no supervision, develops and builds batch oriented applications for internal and external clients in a fast-paced project oriented environment.
Professionally communicates with clients and receives business requirements from client.
Collaborate with application architects, developers, business analysts and management team to design, develop, test and document batch oriented applications.
Provide design options, alternatives and recommendations based on experience and best practices.
Develop high performing PL/SQL procedures for batch operations. Must exhibit deep understanding and experience in PL/SQL tuning.
Develop high performing offline processes to bulk load data into Oracle, including use of SQL Loader.
Work within established standards for documentation and development.
Generates ad-hoc and standard reports using Hyperion and Oracle BI reporting applications.
Enhance existing applications to meet the needs of ongoing efforts within the platform.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
Four year college degree and 4 or more years professional experience or 6 or more years professional experience.
4+ years PL SQL / DBA Development Experience
2 years Oracle 10G/11G Experience
Financial services experience is preferable but not required
Requirements
Must have hands-on PL/SQL development experience.
Must have extensive experience tuning and optimizing within Oracle 10G and 11G.
Database performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
Relational data modeling skills. Experience designing and developing new databases schemas is a plus but not required.
Strong knowledge of common Oracle tools, utilities and packages.
Candidate must exhibit excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to discuss business requirements and articulate complex technical concepts in simple terms is an absolute necessity. In addition, candidates must be able to provide documentation of their development work that can be used by other members of the team.
Exposure to database administration on Oracle 10g/11g within Solaris and/or AIX environments is a plus but not required.
Exposure to reporting tools like Hyperion and Oracle BI is a plus but not required.
