- Perfom secure data transfers by utilizing proven MFT technologies to centralize the movement of critical client and employee data to facilitate data growth, reduce security risk, and improve IT and business efficiency.
- Maintain knowledge of protocol standards in order to troubleshoot file transmission communications between diverse environments to ensure negotiated time windows are met.
- Provide central visibility and tracking for all data movement activities by using “best of breed” MFT technologies to rapidly identify and resolve file transfer problems whereby reducing penalties associated with missed deadlines.
- Analyze network traffic to research and resolve transmission issues to ensure successful transfer.
- Create partner environments within our infrastructure to simulate and troubleshoot complex protocols to test compatibility and connectivity of transmission requirements provided by trading partners.
- Maintain, configure and support MFT Infrastructure through patch management/certification, testing and hardware upgrades. This will ensure functionality and security is up-to-date for file transfers of time sensitive information.
- Identify and implement system process improvements to increase reliability, availability, and performance to maximize system uptime as defined by business requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve all production system and transmissions errors based on business severity and transmission deadlines to ensure penalties or late fees are not accessed.
- Remain informed on new managed file transfer technologies to ensure business objectives are met and threats and risks to client and employee data are minimized.
- Work with vendors to troubleshoot issues, defects and enhancements to keep production environments functioning at peak performance and maximum availability.
- Participate on project teams for secure file transfers to ensure the established security policies and requirements are adhered by all members of the project.
- Perform system-level Business Continuity Plan tests to ensure Business Continuity Plan is compliant and functional.
- Provide 24/7 3rd level support of system file transfer issues to ensure that all business crtical files are trasmitted timely.
Qualifications
Experience
- 3+ years experience with Managed File Transfer (MFT) technology.( Inovis/GXS and Sterling Commerce)
- 3+ years Network and Payload Encryption Methods (SSL, SMIME, PGP )
- Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related field is PREFERRED.
- An in-depth knowledge regarding the implementation, enhancement, and support processes involving enterprise data transmissions practices and techniques including a variety of communication protocols. (TCP/IP, FTP/SFTP/FTPS/HTTPS/AS2, Connect Direct), middleware practices and tools.
- Working knowledge of the XML standard
