Netflix is the world's leading streaming video service, and our
growth is accelerating. As we expand internationally, we are continually
enhancing our cloud-based infrastructure to scale and improve our
services' performance, scalability, and availability. The Cloud
Performance Team helps to keep the performance and scalability of the
Netflix service on the a path of continual improvement.
As a member of the Cloud Performance Team, you will design, build
and extend our applications which provide valuable insight into the
performance, scalability, and efficiency characteristics of our massive
cloud infrastructure. Effectively maintaining such visibility into
hundreds of instances is easy. Tens of thousands? Not so much. Your
tools will take tens of millions of data points and seamlessly distill
them to a view which provides clear insight.
You are passionate about developing full stack web applications
that are highly functional and intuitive, and believe that improving
performance is essential to our success as a company. You excel at
pulling data from many disparate source to create a consolidated view,
and work well in a cross-functional environment.
You possess these qualities:
- Ability to create full-stack java applications which consume and process large amounts of data.
- Comfortable with Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and bash scripts.
- Strong object-oriented development skills.
- Desire to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
- You are effective at working with multiple teams; a great communicator.
You have these skills:
- 7+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
- 5+ years in Java software development; full-stack experience a big plus.
- Fluent in Linux.
- Large-scale distributed systems experience.
You may even have these skills:
- Experience in the performance tooling or capacity planning space.
- Contribution to open source software.
- Familiarity with Groovy and Grails.
- Experience with Cloud Computing platforms (e.g. Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google App Engine).
