opening for a Sr. BI Engineer-ETL using Informatica for our Bangalore
office.
To
perform this job successfully, an individual must be a team player and
flexible self-starter who has the ability to take direction and work
independently. This position requires a highly motivated individual with
solid experience implementing enterprise data warehouse and business
intelligence delivery solutions. The person in this role must have
strong written and oral communication skills along with the ability to
apply data warehouse architecture theories and concepts to creating
solutions for the business to access critical information. The
individual must be capable of leading the development process from
design through implementation.
Responsibilities:
- Database Modeling & System Architecture - Gather business requirements from end users and translate them into specifications design. Design, develop, and maintain the dimensional model based on business requirements
- Data Extract and System Interface Development - Design data interfaces to support process data warehouse processes. Design and implement queries to extract specific data from relational data sources into data warehouse. Establish controls to ensure the accuracy and consistency of data.
- Analyze requirements and determine level of effort.
- Provide ongoing support of enterprise data warehouse, continued development and enhancement of the data warehouse, automation of daily data extracts and external system feeds, and development and enhancement of current reports.
- Mentor other team members.
- Develop code, test plans, expected results, and test data at a program level.
- Perform system analysis and identify solutions to technical problems.
- Prepare and maintain documentation to support computer operations, related manual procedures, and technical references.
- Provide production support activities for assigned systems
- Provide input to project estimates and work plans
Qualifications:
- · Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or similar concentration, with Master’s Degree preferred.
- · Minimum seven (7) years of experience in data warehousing concepts, practices and procedures.
- · Minimum 5+ Yrs Hands-on Experience in ETL architecture & development.
- · Experience with MDM or data quality projects and processes a plus
- · Should possess strong architectural, communicationskills, be goal oriented, and have a demonstrated ability to produce results
- · Strong experience in data analysis, data cleansing, and data transformation is required
- · Knowledge of both Entity Relational Models, and Dimensional Models.
- · In-depth understanding and knowledge of Star Schema and Snowflake schema
- · Working knowledge of the Business Intelligence (BI, OLAP, and ROLAP) tools.
- · Hands-on relational, E/R and dimensional data modeling experience in large transaction and data warehouse environments.
- · Candidate must be familiar with Database features such as partitioning, materialized views, indexing etc.
- · Strong experience in data analysis, data cleansing, and data transformation is required.
- · ETL development skills using Informatica/ stored procedures is required.
- · Understand complex mappings in Informatica to load the data from various sources into the Data Warehouse, using different transformations like Joiner, Aggregator, Update Strategy, Rank, Router, Lookup - Connected & Unconnected, Sequence Generator, Filter, Sorter, Source Qualifier, Stored Procedure transformation etc.
- · Experience in Debugging and Performance Tuning of targets, sources, mappings and sessions
- · Experience in implementation of Data Cleanup procedures, transformations, Scripts, Stored Procedures and execution of test plans for loading the data successfully into the targets
- Microstrategy reporting suite experience is plus.
· Experience in writing UNIX shell scripts SQL-Loader, Performance & Tuning of Database
