Description

Summary

Responsible for implementing and maintaining the vendor supplied mainframe and mid range systems for the TSYS environments. This includes all approved vendor hardware and software for enabling the developmental and operational groups to perform their assigned tasks. Serves as a technical resource for the company and is responsible for resolving issues with the hardware and software used at the TSYS installations.

The System Software Technical Analyst plans and works on larger and more complex projects. Formulates/defines project scope and objective. Performs thorough research and analysis of designs and modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and software limitations. Plans advanced and functionally defined assignments and goals, with alternatives, actions, and results clearly specified. Prepares detailed project specifications and timelines for project management. Assists management by providing accurate estimates of work effort and impact of projects and tasks. Serves as a technical consultant within area(s) of expertise and determines impact of system/software changes within assigned functional area. Assumes a leadership role in respect to on-call responsibilities and leads junior team members when appropriate.

The System Software Technical Analyst operates under demanding deadlines, and readily accepts extreme workloads as required.

§ Responsible for the successful installation, maintenance, and monitoring of operating systems.

§ Solves complex problems through on-going, thorough research and analysis of designs and modification of procedures.

§ Prepares detailed project specifications and timelines for project management.

§ Conducts presentations of funds and design documents to technical, administrative, and all levels of management. Instructs, directs, and checks the work of other Technical Support personnel.

§ Independently completes tasks and projects in an accurate and timely manner.

§ Participates in career development process and demonstrates leadership in role as a team player.

§ Promotes adherence to department practices, standards, policies, procedures, and methodologies.

§ As a system expert, serves as a technical consultant to internal and external customers.

§ Maintains a working knowledge of functional changes to the system.

§ Analyzes existing systems for optimal performance and makes recommendations as required.

§ Accepts additional responsibility readily. Displays substantial initiative and a cooperative attitude.

§ .Resolves, and leads others in resolving, on-call and daily issues.

§ Pursues knowledge of technological advances and applies knowledge to contribute to the company’s vision of its role in the industry. Demonstrates qualities of an effective leader.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

Four year college degree and 6 or more years professional experience or 8 or more years professional experience is required. Appropriate TSYS experience is preferred. Six Sigma Green Belt certification is preferred.
