Wikimedia’s Partners Engineering team is looking for a frontend developer who wants the challenge of crafting tools that empower our teams to scale to hundreds of partners for global free Wikipedia access. Through a partner facing portal, the Firefox OS Wikipedia App, and the core Wikipedia Zero infrastructure you’ll be giving the world access to Wikipedia. Our team believes that everyone should be able to reach Wikipedia regardless of financial or technical obstacles, and we need your help to make it happen.
You’ll join a growing international team and lead our frontend development efforts.
Responsibilities

Work on features that scale us to hundreds of partners and millions of page-views

Use open web standards to evolve our interfaces and experiences

Represent our partners and users for global feature development

Know the web dev stack in and out (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, PHP)

Have multiple years of experience in building user facing features
-
Have a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent work experience
-
Being a polyglot (Spanish, French, and Arabic especially)
-
Previous MediaWiki, open source, or mobile development
-
Knowledge of Ruby for testing methodologies
