Description
Eikon Data Cloud project aims to centralize various federated data sources into a unified data cloud and provide high performance content and analytics access to the consumers of the cloud and downstream Eikon platform components. Position Summary: As an Automation engineer for the Eikon Data Cloud project, the position requires working as a part of quality team for software validation and release, using various programming techniques to create software tools and utilities for automated test executions.
You will be involved in testing server-side applications that encapsulate the storage, processing, dissemination and business logic related to the Thomson Reuters Analytics contents. As such you will have a unique opportunity to manipulate diversified and large contents sets, to test service-oriented architectures used to build truly decoupled distributed systems and to evaluate distributed applications for large-scale data-intensive applications.
Job Duties:
- Serve as an Automation Engineer [Individual Contributor] in the Quality Assurance team.
- Review requirements/design documentation, create and maintain Test Plans, scenarios and test cases.
- Create and maintain automation scripts using varied programming languages/scripts: Python, Java script, C#, Java technologies, SQL, REST/SOAP web services on Linux and Windows platforms.
- Automate and execute Black/White box, system, integration and end user tests.
- Follow agile guidelines and facilitate Test driven development methodology.
- Demonstrate an interest in the financial market data domain and the ability to master one or more content sets
- Proactively communicate with developers and product/business analysts to resolve issues.
- Be an advocate for Quality Assurance and automation throughout the project life cycle. Adhere to QA Standards and best practices.
- Be an active participant in the overall team objectives and improvement initiatives.
- Support software build, deployment and release procedures.
- Participate in monthly Production install validation activities and off-cycle prod validations as necessary.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related.
- 2-5 years of experience with software testing and test automation. Hands on testing experience with smoke, regression, system, integration, UATs, Black box and Code flow tests.
- Knowledge of Agile and test driven development methodologies.
- Automation scripting and programming using SQL, Shell, Python, C#, Java Script, REST/SOAP on windows and Linux platform.
