Description

SQL Server developer who is responsible for the maintenance and futher development of existing databases in SQL Server and Hadoop platforms; support of SQL Server 2008/2012 full text search databases including database and query tuning; work with ElasticSearch; preparation of production database releases. Acquire a good understanding of the business background.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create new and modify existing database tables, triggers, functions and stored procedures in accordance with agreed upon specifications provided by others.
- Write, test and run of data modification scripts in different environments including production.
- Support of production databases, promptly resolve coming production issues.
- Perform database administrative tasks - backup and restoration of databases, security maintenance and others - in staging and development environments.

- Create database roles and users.
- Create and maintain SQL Server jobs.
- Query tuning
- Investigate of database bottleneck - run the profiler and other tools
- Keep track of activities in the issue tracking system.
- Review code.
- Cooperate with the QA team.
- Provide technical support to different development teams and operations.
- Create and maintain all required technical documentation / manual related to assigned components to ensure supportability.
- Make suggestions for problem solutions or software enhancements.
- Participate in project planning sessions with team members to analyze development requirements, provide design options, and provide work breakdown and estimates of work.
- Provide of status updates for own scope of work within projects.
- Participate in internal team and status meetings.
- Use disciplined software development processes, adhering to team/company standards and software best practice guidelines, and corporate policies.

Qualifications

REQUIRED Skills and Experience (must have)
- 5 years of MS SQL Server development
- Good English written and spoken, good communications skills
- Experience with database maintenance activities such as replication, backup/recovery & capacity monitoring/management
- Proficient with SQL statements, stored procedures and functions
- Experience with SQL Server jobs, roles and users
- Strong knowledge of how indexes work and management of index statistics & fragmentation
- Experience in query optimization using SQL Profiler and other related monitoring/troubleshooting tools
- Ability to write design, development and production release documentation
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking/deadlocking issues, connectivity issues, data replication issues etc.
- Ablity to discuss requirements
- Team worker
