Job Description :
FactSet is seeking a senior engineer with significant
experience in business analysis, technical project leadership, data
warehousing, large scale data architecture and logical/physical data
modeling. Candidates should also possess expert level experience in full
life cycle development (SDLC) of business applications.
This position is responsible
for full lifecycle engineering, which includes (but is not limited
to) working with Product Developers and Application Engineers,
identifying requirements, prioritizing work, gathering functional
specifications, performing end-to-end QA, engineering systems and feeds
that deliver content to both internal and external clients.
The Content Collection Services Database Engineering team
specializes in the development and maintenance of proprietary data
distribution systems. The team is responsible for developing systems
that house and deliver content to FactSet’s institutional clients. In
addition to designing and architecting content distribution systems, the
CCS DB Engineering team is responsible for providing database
engineering services to other FactSet engineers.

- BS, or higher, in CS or IS
- Strong working knowledge of database design fundamentals
- Relational database and dimensional database expertise
- Experience evaluating and optimizing SQL query performance
- Experience maintaining data-driven applications
- Experience in database management and stability tools.
- Experience with data mart and master data management solution architecture design and system technology roadmap to meet business requirements.
- Familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall Project Management techniques
- Work with business stakeholders to develop processes for information lifecycle management for overall architecture to align with business strategies.
- Develop standards and policies to manage data architecture lifecycle and establish governance program for the processes.
- Ability to perform Production Support of mission-critical processes
- Maintain a high level customer service
- Maintain a high level of project quality, and timely project delivery
- Serve as the On-Call engineer in accordance with department policy.
- Affinity for learning new techniques and technologies, particularly as a group effort.
- Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or greater
- Applied knowledge of SQL (preferably T-SQL)
- Applied knowledge of ETL techniques, preferably Microsoft Data Transformation Services (DTS) and SQL Server Integration Services technologies (SSIS).
- Familiarity with the creation of Entity Relationship Diagrams
- Applied knowledge of Microsoft .NET v3.5 or greater (preferably using C#)
- Applied knowledge of Object Oriented Development
- Applied knowledge of Services Oriented Architecture
