Vine is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our growing engineering team in NYC.

Responsibilities

• Be the primary owner and point of contact for Vine production systems
• Work closely with engineering groups within Vine and Twitter to design new systems
• Write scripts to monitor and automate processes
• Troubleshoot issues across the whole stack - hardware, software, applications and network
• Document current and future configuration processes and policies
• Lead a 24x7 on-call rotation

Qualifications

• Experience in operations of a large-scale Internet service
• 6+ years of experience with Linux/Unix/BSD
• Experience with Chef or Puppet (we use Chef)
• Demonstrable knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, security, storage, memcache and MySQL
• Practical knowledge of shell scripting and at least one scripting language (Python, Ruby, Perl)
• Track record of practical problem solving, excellent communication, and documentation skills

Desired

• Production experience with EC2 and S3 strongly preferred
• Experience managing production redis deployments
• B.S. in computer science (or comparable)
• Active user of Vine and Twitter
