•Responsible for all functions associated with database administration, management, and support of the Oracle databases. •Install and maintain Oracle databases including security, back-up, logging, reporting, trouble shooting, and recovery procedures •Assist with tuning complex application SQL queries with multi level joins. Some queries created by code generator software. •Work closely with production support teams monitoring and troubleshooting database processes. •Work closely with other DBA team members to manage all technical aspects of database management and process tuning. •Collaborate with project management teams to implement database components and meet project objectives. •Manage User access and auditing. •Assist in maintaining and improving database operational efficiency •Perform daily, weekly, and monthly data maintenance tasks •Ensure data availability to support OLTP and OLAP reports and various reporting requirements •Manage installs and setup configurations •Create, develop, implement, and test backup and recovery procedures •Collaborate with the application development staff for release migration to upgrade ASP software regions. •Install and configure logical database replication for DR sites. •Provide analytical troubleshooting support during production outages. •Minimum 5 years hands-on operational experience with Oracle 10g or 11g DBMS. •Minimum 5 years of experience with performance tuning complex queries. •Minimum 5 years of experience with database design and tuning. •Minimum 5 years of experience OEM. •Must have experience with UNIX scripting. •Would be nice to know Perl scripting. •Minimum 5 years hands-on experience creating and testing Disaster Recovery architectures. •Minimum 5 years hands-on experience setting up RMAN backup processes and Data Guard. •Good understanding of relational principles. •Good understanding of materialized views. •Must have good verbal and written communication skills. •Must have good analytic problem solving skills. •Will require 40 to 50 hrs per week with occasional weekend and off-hours support. •Must be self starter, able to work both independently and within a team environment. •Nice to have experience with Sybase DBMS database administration. •Ability to plan, organize and work on multiple tasks simultaneously •Understanding of CONFIO Ignite helpful.
