Simulmedia is looking for Senior Software Engineers to join their R&D team. Based in the beautiful NoHo area of New York City we’re a technology startup founded by serial entrepreneur Dave Morgan and funded by investors like Union Square Ventures, Avalon Ventures and Time Warner.
Your Role:
You will be responsible for developing highly scalable data processing and ETL solutions on large scale distributed platforms. You will also be working with product teams to distill and engineer against highly defined requirements.
We’re not sticklers for specific technologies but we would value your experience writing efficient, structured code and solving big data problems using some of these:

• Hive/Hadoop
• ETL: Ooze, SWF
• Graph DB/Neo4j
• Java
• MPP: Impala/Vertica
• Python

Your Experience:
Strong technical skills are required in order to build this leading edge platform. You will have had at least 3-5 years of experience:

• Developing beautiful, clean code
• Working in fast and iterative development environments
• Implementing front-end to back-end features
• Collaborating across Technical Operations, Product, and Science

As a Senior Software Engineer you should have a passion for creating efficient code. You also have the innate ability to work across your team and company.
