Position Description Job Overview: In today's financial markets, trade-processing lifecycles undergo constant change. We are looking for an Analyst / Developer with strong C# .NET skills who will be able to absorb a complex business domain within a short period of time. Working as a member of the Adaptiv development team, the candidate will be working on a variety of existing and new projects using a wide range of technologies in order to solve complex application and business related problems. Responsibilities: • Core development of the ‘Adaptiv Risk’ solution, programming mainly (but not exclusively) in C# .NET.  Adaptiv provides a very extensible, high performance engine for performing financial simulations. It provides multi-threading/distributed computing/ GPU computing almost transparently to the authors of the financial algorithms. • Driving product innovation. The individual will be expected to be proactive in ensuring that our components are fully capable of addressing current and future problems in financial risk and operational management. This will encompass researching, prototyping and productising all the way up the innovation curve including partnering with other development groups. • Produce object oriented designs or enhance and re-factor existing designs with a suitable approach. • Translate business requirements into technical design using appropriate methodology. • Produce code artefacts to support the code design. • Participate in requirements gathering and facilitate code handoffs to other groups within organisation. • Communicate accurate status updates at agreed intervals, including milestone updates, risks and technical challenges. • Be part of the bug fix cycle for the issues reported on the released product deliveries. Position Requirements Essential skills: • Proven experience in software development either in an academic or commercial environment. • Proven experience in software design. • Excellent academic qualifications. A minimum of a 2.1 degree, in a subject of a technical nature, with a high mathematical content from a well-regarded university or equivalent experience. We also expect to see exceptional A-level grades or equivalent. Desirable skills, any of the following is an advantage: • Experience in C# .NET. • Experience with design and development of software frameworks. • Experience of multi-threaded, distributed or GPU computing. • Experience with financial software application development. • Experience with Web Services, IIS, HTML, JavaScript, ASP.NET, XML, WCF, ADO.NET, MS Reporting Services, Silverlight. • Experience of Web Application Development. • Experience with C++, Delphi, COM • Experience of SQL (MS SQL Server) Development and OLAP tools/Microsoft Analysis Services Methods. • Experience with Excel-VBA. • A PhD or evidence of ability to conduct solo research (e.g. significant MSc research or PhD) or equivalent Trading and Risk
