Position Responsibilities The System Engineer is a hybrid position that will not only be responsible for managing the virtualized (VMware) environment, Citrix environment, and SAN storage environments but will have to manage and maintain various operating systems both Windows, UNIX, Linux and network connectivity. This position will also be responsible for planning, deploying, monitoring and maintaining the product releases on various supported J2EE application servers, also to ensure all environments are up and running 24x7. Responsibilities • Work closely with the corporate IT in supporting Servers, Networking infrastructure. • Design, manage and maintain the VMware, Citrix infrastructure and SAN storage. • Standardize and manage various product environments including the following: migration, engineering, quality assurance, training, and staging. • Work with the Build and package team to learn how to deploy SunGard Energy product. • Work with other team members in IT, QA, and Product Management to plan the deployment of software releases and continuously improve the deployment and configuration processes • Work with corporate IT team to analyze, plan and develop the  product deployment processes and supporting infrastructure • Document all product environments, such as environment diagrams, configuration documents…etc. • Assist in establishing and implementing configuration management program and policies. Troubleshoot and debug environment and infrastructure problems found in the product environments. • Monitor product performance and establish performance matrix and resource thresholds. Position Requirements Requirements: • Must have a high level of comfort working in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment. • High competence, with a track record of strong problem solving. • Highly motivated, experienced, resourceful and efficient with a “Can Do” attitude. • The candidate must be able to learn quickly, work in a fast-paced, team-driven environment and have the ability to communicate well with technical and non-technical personnel. • Willing to work after hours and weekends (as needed) in order to deploy product releases in predefined, maintenance windows. • Strong work ethic is a must. • Must be self-motivated, eager to learn and willing to take direction. • Organized and detail-oriented, with demonstrated analytical skills. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to assess and clearly communicate technical and project risk. • Must be able to multi-task, manage details, and keep sight of overall objectives. Education/Technical skills requirement: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or higher. • Minimum 5+ years of experience working in virtualized (VMWare),  Citrix environment  and SAN storage is required • 5+ years of system administration with Windows (Windows 2008, Windows 2003, Windows 7), Linux (RedHat, Centos...) and UNIX (Solaris, AIX, HPUX). • 5+ years of experience supporting complex networks with Microsoft servers, Cisco firewalls,  HTTP/S, TCP/IP, MS Terminal Services, DNS services, spam filters and VPN management. • Knowledge with J2EE Application Servers; Weblogic, JBOSS, IBM Websphere. • Knowledge with Oracle, SQLServer SharePoint are plus but not require.
