•Maintain web application server availability and integrity •Write shell scripts to automate tasks such as file migration between file systems, log rotation, backups, system monitoring, etc. •Provide daily and on-call support for applications running on a UNIX environment •Process and implement requests for new or changing web-based structural items •Interface with data center and/or vendors to troubleshoot issues/problems related to applications running on UNIX servers •Install server-based system enhancements and updates •Implement new or changing message service support items •Troubleshoot issues and support web programming staff •Developing processing standards and procedures for use by IT staff •Document system changes and settings for reference by operations and for troubleshooting •Participate in monitoring, development and design of sub-system architectures. •Responsible for vendor software administration, installation and support. •Develop technical partnerships within the business team. •Assist in development of strategic vision with project teams. •Review and recommend product and software requirements for the technical team •Facilitate development and change requirements meetings •Manage, develop, and support backup and Disaster Recovery processes. •Work closely with multiple teams within the within the organization; i.e. development, DBA, QA, and production support. •Enforce environmental standards and Change Management processes. •Assist in project development and enhancement processes •Provide analytical support during design and troubleshooting review sessions. • Must have good communication and written skills. • Must have good analytic and problem solving skills. • Must have good understanding of Change Management process. •Will require 40 to 50 hrs per week with occasional weekend and off-hours support. •Good understanding of UNIX Shells, Solaris, Linux. •Must be self-starter, able to work independently. •Minimum 3 to 5 years hands-on operational experience with production systems. •Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience OS performance tuning. •Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience with UNIX scripting. •Experience developing, implementing, and testing disaster recovery strategies. •Ability to plan, organize and work on multiple tasks simultaneously. •Ability to organize task planning with details and time-lines.
