Technical Program Manager-Mountain View, CA
The Program Manager role in LinkedIn's Start engineering team is at the center of effort and results in our drive to expand the power of professional social networking. You should possess a fundamental software engineering background and have demonstrated full working knowledge of program management best practices for initiating, planning and executing intermediate to large, complex, cross-functional, critical technical programs. At this level of professional development, you should be able to communicate clearly and compellingly and understand how to drive a high level of focus and excellence with a strong team. LinkedIn Program Managers need to be high-flying masters of communication inside LinkedIn while always staying grounded with the proven ability to better serve LinkedIn's worldwide users.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, assist in deployment and manage technical programs for LinkedIn’s Start engineering team
- Support and manage from a program manage standpoint a cross-functional team of software development engineers to successfully deliver multi-tier scalable and reliable applications which operate 24x7
- Foster and maintain a collaborative environment
- Develop and maintain project plans and reporting documentation as necessary to ensure timely communication and successful delivery of assigned projects.
- Develop and maintain an agreed upon communications plan and keep all business entities appraised of all relevant data and actions
- of project plans and related implications.
- Resolve project conflicts and establish escalation path on all projects within program assignment
Qualifications:
- Agile certification or equivalent is desirable at this level
- Multi-tasking ability across as many as five major concurrent programs
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Detail-oriented with attention to detail
Experience Level:
- Minimum of 2 years full time internet-related software development experience
- 1-3 years of full time program management experience within an engineering or technical department
- BS or better in Computer Science or related technical discipline
