The Retail Hotel Integration team at Orbitz Worldwide is looking for a proficient and effective developer for the role of Software Engineer II.

Responsibilities:

• Applies generally accepted programming standards and techniques to assure efficient program logic and data manipulation.
• Participates in designing, coding, testing, debugging, configuring, and documenting operating systems and software.
• Analyzes and participates in reviews of software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Develops or provides work estimates based on analysis of requirements.
• Consults with hardware engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, and operational and performance requirements of overall system.
• Develops alternative system and software designs.
• Coordinates installation of software systems
• Works in multiple code bases to deliver end-to-end functionality.
• Communicates regularly or as needed to customer on progress of work products, deliverables and overall project status
• Develops and maintains automated software tests.

Qualifications:

• BS in Computer Sciences or related field or related, relevant experience.
• 3+ years of experience in Java development.
• Prior experience collaborating with other developers on software development projects using industry standard techniques and methodologies.
• Some project experience with Struts, Spring, Hibernate, Ant, JUnit, OOAD, Patterns, and XML.
• Some project experience with distributed software systems such as CORBA, EJB, RMI, and/or JINI.
• Moderate project experience working with Oracle, one or more application servers, web servers, and Linux.
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills, excellent analytical skills, flexibility, ability to plan and organize, responsiveness, creativity.
• Demonstrated ability to perform in demanding multi-tasking environments
• Agile experience a plus
