Overview:
The Sr. Network Engineer is responsible for delivering on network engineering projects, operational support and to be a skilled resource to customers and partners of Orbitz Worldwide. Primary focus of this position is to help deliver a world-class network operation supporting the growing needs of Orbitz Worldwide and ensure dominance within the travel space. 
This position reports to the Network Engineering Team Lead and will work closely with other Engineering, Business, Operations and Development teams worldwide.
Responsibilities:
  • Support upgrades to environment.
  • Deploy configuration changes to devices in Core and Distribution layers.
  • Expert Firewall maintenance.
  • Advanced load balancer configurations.
  • Maintain network diagrams using Visio.
  • Advanced wireless network troubleshooting.
  • Create and modify advanced VIP configurations.
  • TACACS maintenance.
  • Rollout of complex projects.
  • Perform routine audit work of various areas of the network.
  • Responsible for overall health of the Network.
  • Lead and complete tasks independently with attention to detail and while under pressure.
  • Identify, analyze, and drive problems to resolution, handling complex issues simultaneously while effectively communicating across teams.
  • Build team relationships across the organization.
  • Integrate with existing team and mentor Engineer I/II’s.
  • Network design and planning.
  • On-call 24/7 support.
Qualifications:
  • Must have Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, plus 3 years of experience in job offered or a related occupation or a relevant Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of progressive experience.
  • Experience must include:
  • CCNA and 3-5 years hands on experience (depending on degree) with Cisco equipment;
  • 3-5 years experience (depending on degree) in configuration and troubleshooting of routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF;
  • 3-5 years experience (depending on degree) in configuration and troubleshooting of layer 2 configurations including spanning-tree, 802.1q tagging, port-security, and VACL’s;
  • 3-5 years experience (depending on degree) in configuration and troubleshooting Frame-Relay, MPLS, Wireless technologies and internet circuits; and
  • 3-5 years experience (depending on degree) in Cisco firewall deployments, VPN configurations, and troubleshooting.
  • Must have expert understanding of the Cisco IOS;
  • Proficiency with Advanced Load Balancer configurations;
  • Intermediate understanding of network load balancing technologies; and
  • In-depth knowledge of Layers 1 – 7 of the OSI model.
