Responsibilities:
Orbitz is seeking a Sr. Product Analyst to join
our fast-growing Orbitz India Business Intelligence team. The analyst
will perform data mining to help solve business problems across
the
Orbitz organization. The individual will work in the area of online
marketing, Finance, CRM, Site optimization and data modeling exercise.
We
are seeking a strong individual contributor who is also capable of
leading others on
cross-functional projects. Successful candidates will
have broad range of
skills including complex data manipulation,
problem solving, project
management, and communication.
Typical projects could include:
- Customer segmentation analysis
- Supporting Data mining, analysis and presentation to the business partners
- Statistical support for large-scale A/B testing or Multivariate testing
- Gather requirements for analytical projects through discussions with the business
- Create and execute data acquisition strategies, so that the analytical requirements of the project can be met;
- Perform and/or lead data analysis (usually in Excel or other BI tools that are used at OWW)
- Prepare reports of results which are technically sound, understandable to the business, and actionable; and Communicate results to the business and help guide the business to the appropriate actions.
- Manage and help execute the Feature teams roadmap by working with the stakeholders
Technical
- Understand envisioning outcomes and translate into tangible product requirements in the form of a backlog of features, epics and stories
- Develop functional specifications including use cases, process/workflow, error messages and interface specifications
- Prioritize stories and defects based on progress and customer value, enabling transparency into the justifications used
- Ensure clarity/understanding by entire team of requested work in support of sprint planning, balancing feature and non-feature work
- Ensure quality and completeness of the finished product by user acceptance testing and reviewing test cases
- Work with team to identify releasable feature milestones based on value to be delivered to customer
- Manage functional production issues for features introduced into the site – this includes problem identification and monitoring through resolution, using bug-tracking tools and working with internal/external suppliers on data quality
- Retain ongoing product ownership for all features developed by feature team
Communication
- In collaboration with the Product leader, create and distribute product release communications across key parties
- Provide appropriate transition of features from development to product support teams (e.g. Business Operations, Customer Service, Service Operations)
- Communicate health and quality of product delivery throughout development lifecycle to Feature Team Lead, Product Lead, Solution Architect, Group Manager or Group Lead Product Strategy, and other relevant stakeholders
- Assist risk identification, mitigation strategies/impact analysis, resolution, and communications to teams and stakeholders
- Proactively communicates delays and plan for recovery
- Speaks confidently to different levels of employees
Leadership
- Participate in the product community of practice
- Leverage subject matter expertise in the broader organization
- Demonstrate high performance, cooperation, and dedication behaviors
- Develops trust and confidence with constituents; perceives, understands and addresses subtle elements of business issues and relationships
- Displays initiative to own a variety of activities; serves as point of contact for new team members; proactively identifies opportunities for team improvements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or a related discipline.
- 4 to 8 years of experience as a data Analyst
- Experience in online marketing.
- Experience in an environment requiring fast learning of new skills is required.
- Experience in Web Analytics, SEO or SEM.
- Experience using online marketing media and software platforms and reporting tools.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Extremely detail-oriented
- Experience with SQL and query/reporting tools such as MS Access, Cognos, Qlikview or Micro-strategy etc. is a plus.
- Statistical background is a plus.
- Experience with SAS or other statistical software solutions are a plus.
- Ability to learn new skills and internal processes quickly
- Ability to multitask
- Professional verbal and written communicator
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
- Demonstrated ability to influence and manage technical teams
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to develop positive and effective relationships with both technical and business colleagues
