Summary

Analyzes business and/or technical requirements to formulate a testing plan according to TM-M. Produces test plans and scripts necessary to satisfy business and/or technical requirements. Performs risk assessment of test designs and scenarios to mitigate risk while still meeting required timelines. Coordinates with technical and business resources to identify and correct system defects that are detected during the testing activity. Performs test analyses and issues resolutions of business and project requirements.

Responsibilities

Works independently as the highest level of business/technical expertise, providing both internal and external consulting services. Plans, conducts, and executes research and/or development work on more complex projects necessitating the origination and application of new and unique approaches. Executes on-line, batch and data verification testing of the Total System and validates test results. Creates test designs (on-line, batch and data verification) based on project requirements and acts in a consultant capacity for other team members in the department on testing software techniques. Serves in the capacity of consultant when answering questions or providing guidance on complex projects to internal and external customers (i.e. other departments, clients). Consults and may design with technical resources in the testing environment when making decisions regarding the best use of test automation tools. Identifies the need to test different options and work flow processes on different test platforms. Coordinates and provides expert instruction on appropriate test designs, plans and strategies to ensure that new functionality does not adversely affect current software functionality. Conducts test plan reviews as needed. Uses automated testing tools to create, design, and execute test plans. Designs complex contingency plans as needed. Coordinates with technical and business resources to identify and correct system defects discovered during the testing activity. Performs risk assessment and analysis requirements for integrated testing. Demonstrates extensive knowledge and understanding of structured analysis and design as it relates to the testing design activity. Recognizes the inter-relationships between the various functional components of the system (i.e. collections, posting, and authorizations) and the business, technical and project requirements to determine the appropriate testing methodology to use during test execution and validation. Reviews documentation such as business and technical specifications in order to ensure that the documentation is updated and accurate. Works on multiple tasks as necessary to meet project timelines according to TM-M guidelines. Communicates with manager on a regular basis regarding project requirements, issues resolutions, etc., and disseminates information to project sponsors, business analysts, and programmers. Non-supervisory role. Very high level of accountability/responsibility.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

Four year college degree and 8 or more years professional experience or 10 or more years professional experience is required. Appropriate TSYS experience is preferred. Six Sigma Green Belt certification is preferred.
