Position Responsibilities Responsibilities include operating system builds, security, access controls, user account set-up, storage solutions, performance tuning & analysis, backup/recovery, and business continuity activities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Installs and manages VMware ESX hosts and virtual machines • Installs and manages Windows servers (physical and virtual) • Installs and manages Red Hat Linux servers (physical and virtual) • Performs physical equipment installations of Intel hardware (ie: Dell, IBM, HP, etc..) • Tests, deploys, and reports on Operating System Patches • Monitors systems for performance and capacity issues and recommends remedies as necessary • Manages Windows Active Directory domains • Interfaces with software and hardware vendors when issues occur • Performs emergency system recovery and support • Tests, maintains and participates in Disaster Recovery exercises and actual outages • Plans and manages the migration/consolidation of server hardware, software and data • Provides on-call technical support for Systems Engineering • Assists in budget planning of hardware and software purchases • Assists in inventory record updates and maintains technical environment documentation • Performs other duties as assigned Position Requirements Position Requirements: DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience. • Minimum five years experience as a Systems Administrator and knowledge of computer operations. • Strong working knowledge of VMware ESXi 4.x, 5.x, and vCenter packages. VMware certification is a plus • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows server products, and Microsoft Active Directory • Strong working knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux • Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking and common protocols and tools is required. • Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and repair both hardware and software related issues. • Experience with Data Center facilities management such as power management and cabling is a plus. • Technical proficiency in additional Operating Systems such as Solaris or AIX is a plus • Experience with IBM blade server technologies is a plus • Knowledge of IBM XIV Storage is a plus ABOUT OUR COMPANY With annual revenue of $5 billion, SunGard is a global leader in software and processing solutions for financial services, higher education and the public sector.
