The SunGard Investment Management Systems (SIMS) a business unit within SunGard is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Distributed Architecture Development Group to work on the Asset Arena Investment Accounting (InvestOne) product. This candidate will be responsible for architecting, developing, and supporting the Java/JSP Enterprise web application. Essential Duties: Working with complex subject matter independently as well as with remote development groups Performing complex systems analysis and programming activities that may require research Working with off-shore development and QA teams Using leading-edge technologies, developing and documenting effective and reliable code that meets functional and technical requirements and adheres to software engineering/object oriented best practices Working with Software Quality Assurance team to develop and execute comprehensive quality assurance plans Providing 2nd tier production level support Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related discipline or the equivalent of education and experience • 5+ years of experience focusing on full lifecycle application development • Application development & design experience in Java, JSP, Java Servlets, Struts and Hibernate required • Experience with Sybase or Oracle • Experience with AngularJS, RestEasy, JavaScript, HTML, JUnit, Oracle WebLogic Server, Tomcat, Eclipse and Linux desired • Strong grasp of relational database concepts • Strong interpersonal skills • Excellent written/verbal skills SunGard’s asset management solutions help institutional investors, hedge funds, private equity firms, fund administrators and securities transfer agents improve both investment decision-making and operational efficiency, while managing risk and increasing transparency.
