Department Background
 
The CCS Application Engineering team specializes in the development and maintenance of proprietary applications used by FactSet’s content research teams. These applications are developed using a mix of desktop and web based technologies, and leverage MS SQL server as its backend.

This position is responsible for full lifecycle software engineering, which includes (but is not limited to) working with Product Developers and Application Engineers, identifying requirements, prioritizing work, gathering functional requirements, function/technical specifications, ensuring end-to-end QA.
Job Description
 
FactSet is seeking a technical lead with significant experience in business analysis, technical project leadership, C# and MS SQL Server development. Candidates should possess expert level experience in full life cycle development (SDLC) of business applications. This position will serve a dual role as lead engineer on an application development domain, as well as a part-time member of the Architecture Team, where the candidate will help that team develop standards and policies to manage data and software architecture lifecycle and establish governance program for our processes.

· BS, or higher, in CS or IS
· Expert working knowledge of OOO software development
· Expert working knowledge and experience of database design fundamentals
· Experience designing and architecting software based on C#
· Relational database and dimensional database modeling expertise
· Experience maintaining data-driven applications
· Experience with database management and stability tools. .
· Experience with full SDLC tools & processes (deployment, code review, code management, etc)
· Ability to mentor and support junior engineers
· Proven ability to step into a team having a problem and lend a hand in resolving the problem.
· Ability to lead team-wide technical changes (look at current technical practices, identify improvements, and implement change with lasting impact)
· Maintain a high level customer service
· Maintain a high level of project quality, and timely project delivery
· Serve as the occasional On-Call engineer in accordance with department policy.
· Affinity for learning new techniques and technologies, particularly as a group effort.
 
Additional Desired Technical Skills
· Applied knowledge of Microsoft .NET >= v3.5 Framework (preferably using C#)
· Applied knowledge of Object Oriented Development
