Senior Lead Specialist Integration Manager

Purpose

Lead the development of specific SITA Products or internal systems and applications using appropriate resources, processes, methodologies and technologies, in compliance with SITA's policies and procedures, and industry standards.
Translate and align technical, business and operational requirements of systems, applications, services etc into technical and / or functional specifications, ensuring the overall capability / viability of a specific product(s) is achievable.
Ensure the integration of the requirements match those of interacting systems, applications and services both inside and outside of SITA in the wider airline community.
Act as a 'technical expert' for multiple large-scale technical projects that have a significant cross functional business impact ensuring the solution(s) developed are able to sustain the long-term functional and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead user workshops to validate customer requirements, confirm and negotiate technical specifications upon activation of a project, verifying adherence to requirements in delivered solutions.
- Investigate, advise and implement added functionality; either from specific application enhancements or functionality requirements of the user community.
- Develop end-to-end road map for system testing, sign-off of test cases, scripts and documentation relating to the functional and performance testing.
- Advise, implement and manage technical change request processes for ensuring all system changes follow agreed policy and comply with audit requirements.
- Overall responsibility for technical set-up of the system, liaising with development teams to determine effort, feasibility, scheduling, etc.
- Responsible for the creation of high-level technical documentation that supports the products as defined in the requirements.
- Drive the continual improvements of processes to ensure the best practice is maintained and where appropriate implement such processes in the wider development organisation.
- Ensure all risks and issues that affect the project are raised following set processes and are actioned appropriately. Escalate risks and issues that pose a significant impact to deliverables, but ultimately responsible for ensuring remedial actions are achieved.
- Work with technical and functional teams to plan and design extensions to the existing applications' functionality.
- Participate in the strategy and vision for the future of existing products and solutions, ensure and provide guidance where required on steering committees and / or at industry events.
- Mentor and coach a small group of less experienced Specialists ensuring they have the skills and knowledge in order to perform their roles.
- Act as the 'Technical Lead' for implementation of specific application/s in each specific country / region.

Education & Qualifications

- University degree or equivalent preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or similar
- Where applicable a recognised professional qualification is desirable.

Experience

- At least 10+ years experience in deployment or support of application software, implementing systems and modules with experience of multiple full lifecycle implementations.
- Formal project management training desirable
- JRockit
- Oracle Entitlements Server/Oracle Web Services Manager.
- Gigaspaces and Cisco ACE.
- Oracle Enterprise Repository
- Experience of Airline or other Travel industry.

Knowledge & Skills

- 10+ years of experience in design and development of n-tier architecture based solutions with distributed components.
- Experience of Web Logic Server 11g , Oracle RAC, Oracle Service Bus.
- Exposure to J2EE technology Stack (JSP, Servlets, EJB, Spring Framework, Hibernate, Struts, Web Services)
- Good knowledge of build and deployment practices in a J2EE environment (including Maven, Artifactory)
- Experience of formulating Integration Strategy for service based development for cross functional development and SOA Middleware strategy and implementation.
- Strong experience in Integration Architecture, Service Orientated Architecture, SOA Integration Standards and Governance
- Ability to manage, prioritise and provide resolutions for issues in Continuous Integration Environment.
- Strong experience of Continuous Integration and Build practices, with exposure to Jenkins and/or Hudson.
- Ability to document and explain complex issues to a wide audience including senior management, developers and 3rd party suppliers.
- The ability to be the lead technical role on complex projects (size or scope) overseeing requirement analysis through implementation and/or support
- Costing projects of large complexity
- Understands the customer's business objectives for assigned projects
- SITA development and project tools, such as version control, debugging
- Manages project documentation in ePM for change control, risks and issues log and project planning.
- Coordinates multiple technical streams of work to produce a complete solution
- High-level designs for significant systems/applications with input from more experienced staff
- Resolves very complex problems in QA / Architecture
- Expert knowledge of and ability to apply advanced software development principles, theories, programming languages, concepts and techniques.
- Understands the concept of IT security and its application to computer systems architecture.
- Expert understanding of system integration and hardware
- Superior understanding of SITA methodologies and practices
- Understanding trade-offs and risks with technical choices
- Strong Project Management Skills, managing large complex projects comprising cross-functional dependencies in various domains and technologies.
