Job Description :
 The distributed services team is looking for a software engineer to aid in design and development of its next generation services technology (FDSAv2). The team, which is a group within the Software Architecture department, is responsible for middleware that ties many of Factset’s systems together. This includes products such as a distributed HTTP service architecture, authentication systems, and an internal networked file system.  Engineers are responsible for implementing infrastructure that will serve to be the foundation of Factset’s next generation systems architecture. This includes developing systems and API’s for authentication, authorization, messaging, HTTP routing, logging, and caching.


Responsibilities:
+     Develop, test, and maintain C++ code in a Linux operating environment
+     Develop non-blocking socket code for client and server programs
+     Design data structures and algorithms appropriate for multi-connection servers
+     Fix bugs including ones that may be found in multi-threaded asynchronous code

Requirements:
+     BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
+     Strong working knowledge of data structures and algorithms
+     Experience in C/C++ including the STL
+     Experience working on software in a team

Knowledge in the following areas is a plus:
+     Berkley sockets, TCP/IP network programming
+     Multi-threaded programming
+     Unix, shell scripting

Technical Skill Requirements
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or greater
  • Applied knowledge of SQL (preferably T-SQL)
  • Applied knowledge of ETL techniques, preferably Microsoft Data Transformation Services (DTS) and SQL Server Integration Services technologies (SSIS).
  • Familiarity with the creation of Entity Relationship Diagrams
 
Desired Skills
  • Applied knowledge of Microsoft .NET v3.5 or greater (preferably using C#)
  • Applied knowledge of Object Oriented Development
  • Applied knowledge of Services Oriented Architecture
