Job Description :
As a Software Engineer within the Fundamentals team you will be
responsible for developing and deploying key features of FactSet’s
global company financials database, FactSet Fundamentals which is a
critical part of our product offering.
You will join a global team of talented engineers and product managers working to make FactSet Fundamentals the best product of its type in the market.
The daily activities of this position include developing applications/workflows for the fundamentals content set. You will be primarily working with MS SQL Server and C#. The role includes the design, implementation and deployment of new product features as well as working on performance enhancements throughout our pipeline.
You will also have the opportunity to build and maintain strong working relationships with our Content Development and Software Engineering teams in the US, India and the Philippines.
Essential Job Functions
- Develop and maintain applications/workflows for the Fundamentals content set
- Communicate with Fundamental Content stakeholders about developmental needs
- Provide and architect effective solutions for stakeholder requirements
- Provide trouble-shooting for clients for products
- Maintain department’s best practices & policies in regards to code and documentation.
- Sharpen existing technical skills and learn new ones.
- Ability to create working relationships with Engineering Managers and Software Engineers, Product Developers, Project Managers, and Research Analysts.

- Degree in CS or equivalent
- Professional experience in software engineering.
- Proficient in object-oriented software development and data structures
- Proficiency in C# and SQL is a plus, must be proficient in one major object-oriented language.
- Experience in supporting technology architectures with 24/7 uptime requirements.
- Skillset must include the ability to learn new skills and apply them to the job, prioritize tasks, strong verbal and written communication, and strong organizational, analytical, reasoning skills.
Education
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in a computing related subject or equivalent qualification
