SunGard is looking for a full-time experienced QA VP who will be responsible for working at the direction of the CTO within its Insurance Division. The QA VP will manage quality assurance resources and develop efficient QA processes. The individual should have proven experience of managing a sizeable QA team and proven expertise in defining and building an automated testing framework/process associated with web applications, web services, APIs, and client-server applications. The individual will work with business units and Product Management team throughout all phases of the software development life cycle to develop comprehensive functional and user test scenarios ensuring applications operate efficiently and with high quality. The individual will need to be a true team player who is able to work with distributed teams in a fast paced, agile environment and be successful in meeting aggressive timelines. Responsibilities: • Collaborate with business units, product management, and development resources to deliver high quality products that meet company and customer expectations for functionality, schedule and budget. • Manage QA staff across different time zones to support development for the Company products. • Develop appropriate automation strategies for each product, to include regression tests and performance and load testing and corresponding execution plans. • Apply critical thinking skills to understand the root cause of an issue and, in an unbiased manner, develop practical options for solutions. • Apply best practices in creating test plans, test cases, procedures and documents given business requirements and design documents. • Manage quality and user acceptance testing of system changes and enhancements. • Create project plans for automation test projects, including scope, estimation, schedule, and deliverables • Execute and maintain both automated and manual test scenarios, test plans and scripts • Proactively come up with innovative methods to constantly improve quality, test coverage, efficiency and regression coverage by automation of feature testing • Identify product performance issues during new product development • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent. •10 or more years of relevant business, technology and management experience, to include at least 8 years’ experience in quality assurance, software development or database management practices and technologies. • Experience developing test automation strategy and process. • Experience testing business solutions delivered on a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model. • Experience in Agile/Scrum software development life cycle. • Specialized certifications in business analysis, software testing (ISTQB certification) or project management (PMP certification) is strongly preferred. • Experience with various Automated Test tools, such as Selenium, Microsoft Test Manager, Test Complete, QTP, or HP Quality Center. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • 5 or more years of experience managing multiple quality assurance teams and software products in a multi-location, outsourced environment. • Demonstrated experience in master test planning, test case management, software defect analysis, test automation, and QA best practices. • Hands-on technical proficiency performing different types of testing to include: user interface, functional, load, stress and system performance testing. • Hands-on technical proficiency using software testing. • Ability to read and comprehend business requirements and software design deliverables to create detailed test cases. • Knowledgeable of relational database management systems with strong proficiency writing advanced SQL queries. • Organized and detail-oriented, able to track and work on multiple projects at once. • Consultative working style, able to effectively interface with various levels of leadership. • Able to quickly build, manage and foster a highly productive, team-oriented environment. • Strong analytical and problem solving skills. • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship skills necessary to work with an integrated team of client services, business analysts, developers, and quality engineers; ability to offer constructive feedback in requirements, design, test plans and code reviews.
