Job Duties and Responsibilities: 
The Java Architect is a strong, hands-on developer with core Java and web service development experience.  As a leader within our development team, you will be responsible for estimating, developing and testing web services that are consumed by our clients.  You will also be responsible for mentoring Java junior developers on Java development best practices, establishing Java development standards and ensuring that software development engineers adhere to those standards.
While working with our clients, you will work collaboratively with product managers, Java developers and subject matter experts on other teams within an Agile development methodology.  You must be able to clearly communicate progress, risks and blockers to other team members as well as lead design discussions.
Skills Required:
  • Experience with the IBM Rational Development Environment (RAD and RSA)
  • Experience with WebSphere Application Server
  • Java Enterprise Edition (1.6) Development Experience
  • Java Persistence API Development Experience
  • SOAP Web Services Development Experience (CXF experience is preferred)
  • Knowledge of an Application Logging Framework (log4net is preferred)
  • Knowledge of Unit Testing Using a Framework (junit is preferred)
  • Knowledge of Mocking Framework (jmockit is preferred)
  • Developing web service component tests using soapUI.
  • Experience with Maven build automation tool
  • Agile/Scrum methodology
  • Understanding of Oracle query development
  • 10 years of proven development and leadership experience
In addition to the above skills, the following skills are highly desirable:
  • Knowledge of a Dependency Injection Framework (Spring is preferred)

Job Summary
Senior Information Architects are responsible for the navigation, organization, interaction design, and business/user process engineering for leading-edge Web solutions, software, mobile and other interactive devices. This involves application of user-centered design methods to translate user needs, business objectives, and technology capabilities into world-class user experience for leading companies.
Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate existing sites in terms of their persuasiveness, emotional design, and conversion; assess properties for usefulness, usability, visual design, content, and branding
  • Lead participatory design/user testing sessions
  • Identify and document meaningful patterns from the user research, audit the findings; provide recommendations to the client/internal team based on findings
  • Lead development of personas/segmentations based on research findings; integrate personas/segmentations with related deliverables such as opportunity maps and wireframes
  • Prepare, conduct, and analyze behavioral in-context research events

In this highly visible role, you will be responsible for ensuring that users can always reach and use all of the services under your team's care.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure 24x7 stability and uptime, resolve service impacts and handle client requests in a fast-paced environment
  • Ensure compliance of systems through various tasks and remediation
  • Ensure that security policies are implemented through the use of network and OS level security
  • Setup, configure and maintain network & systems infrastructure
  • Work closely with the applications developers to configure, manage and implement various physical and virtual application environments
  • Assist in researching and implementing new technologies to improve existing environments and be proactive in problem mitigation
  • Act as both an external and internal facing point of contact to facilitate handling of problem reports and escalate technical issues and communicate network status

Job Description:

Next Jump's DBA team is looking to add to their current team with self-motivated, talented SQL Server Database Administrators. We're seeking DBAs excited about being part of an expert team focused on operating, tuning, growing and optimizing all aspects our transaction database and database warehouse systems. In this role, you will work closely with development and systems teams to enhance the performance and functionality of Next Jump's systems and services. You will also contribute to the design and delivery of new database solutions, support production systems and participate in an on-call rotation. The current environment primarily includes Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and Microsoft SQL Server 2008.

Responsibilities:

  • Performance monitoring and fine-tuning systems for optimal performance
  • Proactively planning and managing all aspects of the database
  • Planning and implementing the synchronization of data across several environments
  • Teaming up with development groups to support production database releases and database-related requests
  • Defining and implementing standards and procedures for schema and query design
  • Supporting reporting group on scheduling reporting and data jobs; ensuring reporting availability

FactSet’s StreetAccount team is seeking a motivated software engineer with a diverse skill set.  Our StreetAccount Team’s responsibilities include web-based real-time content delivery, APIs, and GUI applications.

In this role you will join the team of engineers through the entire life-cycle of software development. You will also work with other organizations, inside and out, to define APIs and formats for exchanging data.
An important initiative for this team will be to complete integration of single-sign on for FactSet’s web properties. You will be working with 5 other teams within FactSet on this exciting new project.
This position is a hands-on role. Although you will be required to do some project management, most of your time will be spent directly contributing to the web properties.
