  • Multiple platform development (Linux, Windows, OSX)
  • Networking ( e.g. Security, HTTP, SNMP, SMTP, FTP, TCP/UDP protocols)

  • Database development (e.g. MySQL, Oracle)
  • Low-level network knowledge and diagnosis including packet capture (e.g. tcpdump, Wireshark), routing, firewalls, DHCP, DNS, NAT busting

We are seeking an individual for the I/S Bank Application Proudction team. This position can be either located in Omaha, NE or Tempe, AZ.  This motivated individual will provide development and support for applications and systems for assigned projects and customers. Assists with determining specifications based on business, while adhering to current application development processes. Works well individually or as part of a team. Assists in solving application system problems with assistance as needed from application and technical personnel.
Essential Functions:
The Programmer participates in and assists with the development of application and business integration solutions. Uses a variety of programming languages, platforms and technologies under the direction of senior analysts to provide business solutions to customers.
A knowledge of one or more programming languages is required. Understands approaches for developing, testing, and debugging applications. Understands and consistently applies the attributes and processes of current application development. Maintains an awareness of technology and industry trends.

Under the direction of senior analysts, the programmer works on projects and system support activities that directly impact single application system areas and the business functions supported by the system. Understands task definition.

Awareness of business objectives and challenges within the supported business area through work assignments and continuing education. Has an overall understanding of the corporate environment and insurance-related functions.

This position has limited impact on corporate finances and customers. Bachelors Degree is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and related experience may also serve to meet these minimum requirements.
The Application Developer, Application Systems Analyst, and Application Solution Architect levels have variable essential functions, qualifications and physical requirements. Competency and skill set will determine level of placement within the posted job family.

Qualifications


  • Minimum 2 years experience with a Programming Language is required (ie: C#, or Visual Basic)
  • Minimum 2 years experience working with SQL.
  • Minimum 2 years experience with the Microsoft Windows Operating Systems is required
  • On-call availability required
  • Able to work in Omaha, NE or Tempe, AZ
  • Familiarity with network infrastructure and troubleshooting workstation/server issues is a plus
  • Experience in a financial institution is a plus
  • XML experience a plus
  • Experience with Image Capture Solutions, preferably Fidelity and/or Opex, is a plus 
  • Experience with relational databases
  • Experience in large project and vendor implementations
  • Experience working closely with vendors and business units to install, configure, and troubleshoot applications
  • Must be able to both work independently with minimal supervision
  • Effectively lead or support teams performing installation, maintenance, and/or testing functions under critical deadlines
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced structured environment

Candidates should have hands-on, object oriented development experience as well as with Java. A Computer related BS and/or Sun certified programmer is preferred. Experience developing within an n-tier architecture is preferred as well as experience with Oracle 8i/9i and BEA Web logic. . Appropriate TSYS experience is preferred.
