We are looking for a Principal Machine Learning Engineer, a senior technical visionary, to be the Principal Technical Lead for the Content & Trust Engineering teams setting up overall technical strategy, unified technical architecture and defining a roadmap for industry leading methodology. Strong hands on machine learning background including deep learning architectures, generative AI, low-resource ML (zero shot, few shot), responsible AI and large scale deployment and measurement is required.


As the Principal Machine Learning Engineer you'll be responsible for the technical direction, strategy and health of our Content and Trust Engineering org. You'll ensure that our technology can deliver on the business/product requirements necessary to keep Pinterest safe and positive. This means working with other leads to set and execute a long-term strategy for Content and Trust, aligning the strategy with other clients where it makes sense and communicating to leadership our current status and path to having world-class Content and Trust capabilities. You'll also foster a healthy community where all ML engineers can learn best practices, collaborate effectively and understand our technical direction.


What you’ll do


Develop strong partnerships with product teams to understand and proactively address future technology needs and current developer pain points

Champion and drive large-scale, cross-functional initiatives that improve the trust and safety of our platform

Act as the ultimate “customer representative” for engineers on Content and Trust including representing needs to leadership and prioritizing projects on the platform teams that ensure high quality capabilities and a world-class Pinner experience

Scale your leadership through both direct mentorship and via best practices, processes, training and tools.

Ensure solid technical plans are in place for projects within Trust via direct review or delegation

Be the technical point of contact for decisions that impact the whole Pinterest platform and for cross-functional partners like policy, operations and legal

What we’re looking for:

Within the Ads Delivery team, we try to connect the dots between the aspirations of pinners and the products offered by our partners. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing a vision for the evolution of the Pinterest marketplace. What we’re looking for:

Ads Identity Modeling (AIM) sits within the Ads Conversion Modeling group in the Ads Performance org and focuses on identity and conversion modeling that improves conversion ads performance and unlocks new optimization objectives in close partnership with Ads Measurement and ranking teams. What you'll do:


Lead the roadmap and technical direction for User Match Prediction (UMP)—from features and training data to model deployment—to increase match rate/quality and strengthen downstream attribution and optimization.

Define and productionize a model to generate a user match confidence score, and use it to optimize label weighting and feature construction in conversion models (e.g., oCPM/ROAS).

Develop and ship models that increase incremental conversions, partnering with Data Science and Product to set success criteria and measurement plans.

Partner with Ads Measurement, Ads Signals, Ranking, and ML Infra to translate identity improvements into reliable online impact and strong operational readiness.

Guide model architecture evolution (e.g., feature interactions, multi‑task learning, serving freshness) and iterate on UMP initiatives that expand coverage and resilience (CAPI, WAU attribution, IP‑loss mitigation).

Contribute to the longer‑term Identity Graph (IDG) collaboration (multi‑hop identifiers, candidate generation and ranking) to improve identity resolution and downstream utility.

What you’ll do:


Build out Pinner-facing frontend features in iOS to power the future of inspiration on Pinterest

Contribute to and lead each step of the product development process, from ideation to implementation to release; from rapidly prototyping, running A/B tests, to architecting and building solutions that can scale to support millions of users

Partner with design, product, and backend teams to build end to end functionality

Put on your Pinner hat to suggest new product ideas and features

Employ automated testing to build features with a high degree of technical quality, taking responsibility for the components and features you develop

Grow as an engineer by working with world-class peers on varied and high impact projects

What we’re looking for:


Deep understanding of iOS development and best practices in Objective C and/or Swift, e.g. xCode, app states, memory management, etc

2+ years of industry iOS application development experience, building consumer or business facing products

Experience in following best practices in writing reliable and maintainable code that may be used by many other engineers

Ability to keep up-to-date with new technologies to understand what should be incorporated

Strong collaboration and communication skills

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, or equivalent experience

What we’re looking for:


10+ years’ experience in product management or related technical leadership roles, with a clear record of building and launching large-scale backend or infrastructure products.

Domain expertise (preferred) in catalog content management, ecommerce infrastructure or platforms, or shopping recommendation and personalization systems.

Deep experience with commerce and ads infrastructure, including catalog management, feed ingestion, product data, high-scale storage, or high-throughput/low-latency serving architectures.

Demonstrated success in guiding cross-functional, multi-phase technical initiatives—especially large migrations, architecture redesigns, or system consolidations.

Analytical and strategic mindset, comfortable making high-accountability decisions and driving measurable business impact.

Exceptional communication and partnership skills, with experience influencing at all levels from technical contributors to senior executives.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent; advanced degrees or equivalent industry experience a plus.

Pinterest is one of the fastest growing online advertising platforms and our continued success depends on rapidly scaling our core revenue-generating systems. Specifically, we need 10X the scale of our campaign management, ad delivery, and machine learning platforms, while enabling developers inside Pinterest and external advertisers to build and iterate rapidly on new features.


We're seeking a talented Senior Staff Software Engineer to take the tech lead role of Ad Serving Platform team. You will lead the team to build a high throughput, low latency, ad serving system which empowers Pinterest ads business. You will build the team roadmap and leverage state-of-the-art serving infrastructure to efficiently and effectively serve ads to Pinterest users across all surfaces.


What you’ll do:


In this pivotal role, you will take on the challenge of defining and executing the technical strategy for scaling and modernizing our ad serving infrastructure.

Your efforts will include rearchitecting and refining the infrastructure to achieve greater scalability, freshness and performance handling billions of ads repository and millions of QPS.

You will lead the collaboration with ML, product, infra and other partner teams to evaluate the infra requests and make fund decisions.

You will be the tech lead of 10-20 engineers and directly influence their day to day work through mentorship and leadership.

What we’re looking for:


BS (or higher) degree in Computer Science, or a related field.

8+ years of professional experience as a hands-on engineer and technical leader leading multiple projects.

5+ years of relevant industry experience with Ads or Search Infrastructure and distributed systems.

Rich experience in working cross functionally to drive alignment, oversee execution and secure deliverables.

Hands on experience in solving complex scaling, latency, or low-level system performance problems in high-volume online serving systems.

Knowledge of industry best practices and trends, and use it to form a long-term plan to the team.

Passionate about building ads serving stack visibility and solving Ops / customer painpoints.

Experience in mentoring, guiding and upleveling junior engineers.

Experience solving end-user problems and envisioning solutions to improve their productivity.

Proficiency in at least one of the system languages (C++, Java, Python).
