ENGINE PROGRAMMER INTERN

What You'll Do

Epic Games is looking for an Engine Programmer Intern to join our Developer Experience and Efficiency team. In this role, you’ll work with experienced programmers to develop low-level tools to help identify performance and iteration problems or use them to improve content iteration performance of UE and UEFN. The ideal candidate will have a love of practical problem-solving and an affinity for improving the day-to-day workflow of other developers.


In this role, you will

Establish test workflows to validate correctness and prevent regressions of our content creator workflows in UE and UEFN

Work on performance tooling to help identify performance bottlenecks or facilitate data analysis

Develop custom tools and pipelines for other programmers or content creators to help them better achieve their goals

Work with other senior programmers to profile and optimize critical paths of UE and UEFN editor iteration workflow

What we're looking for

C++ skills and knowledge of programming principles

Some knowledge about multithreaded code

Interested in low level systems and API design

Someone who is passionate, solution-oriented and proactive

An interest in UX and workflow design would be preferable

What You'll Do

We are looking for a Backend Engineer Intern to join the Ecosystem Security team supporting initiatives related to account security. As a part of the EcoSec team, you will be given a feature to own as part of our development cycle. You will work with your engineering lead to design and implement new functionality that improves account security for players across the Epic Games ecosystem.


In this role, you will

Learn about various areas of security as it relates to the game industry - this internship will focus on account security, but you will have the opportunity to learn from experts in the fields of anticheat, fraud, content moderation, and more

Collaborate with engineering and stakeholder teams across Epic to design and implement one or more new features in a Golang backend service to support our account security initiatives

What You'll Do

As a Backend Programmer at Epic, you will work exclusively on backend systems that power high-scale eCommerce experiences. You’ll design, build, and operate distributed services that handle millions of transactions, integrating deeply with teams across the globe. This role requires an excellent command of Java, microservices, and AWS infrastructure, with a focus on performance, reliability, and secure design.


In this role, you will

Design, implement, and iterate on scalable, secure, and highly available backend services

Own and operate distributed microservices in domains including payments, checkout, orders, and subscriptions

Diagnose and resolve production issues involving latency, concurrency, distributed systems behavior, and service interoperability

Take ownership end-to-end: you build it, you run it: define, review, and improve service metrics, monitoring, logging, and alerting practices

Collaborate with product and programming teams to shape technical direction, define milestones, and deliver high-impact features

Refactor and improve existing services for performance, scalability, and maintainability

What we're looking for

Microservices programming background: service boundaries, API design, resiliency patterns, async processing, observability

Deep understanding of REST API design and implementation

Advanced knowledge of both relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases

Practical experience with caching, messaging, and asynchronous pipelines

Solid working knowledge of AWS services: EC2, RDS, Elastic Cache, SNS, SQS, Redis

Project Management: Oversee the end-to-end agile design and delivery of AI and data projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards 

Business Engagement: Serve as a key point of contact for the business, building strong relationships and ensuring their needs are met throughout the project lifecycle including leading Ideation and design workshops through empathetic facilitation. 

Team Development: Recruit, mentor and develop team members, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to help them grow and excel in their roles 

Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing issues and challenges to ensure successful project outcomes 

Strategy & Execution: As a member of the AI leadership team contribute to:

Effective Use of Solutions Lab Resources 

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, product management, enterprise platforms and engineering, to ensure alignment and coordination across the organization.  

Market Analysis: Stay informed of industry trends and emerging technologies in AI and data analytics, providing insights and recommendations to inform business strategy 

Product Design: Align design with business goals, understanding usability metrics, designing for outcomes, and driving iterative design from ideation to prototyping (customer journey mapping, wireframes, enhanced Gen AI scripts, and AI workflow reengineering).   


Qualifications 


At least 5 years recent experience in hands on delivery of AI solutions across a broad range of predictive and GenAI solutions. 

Understand product design practices including setting then aligning product to business strategy and vision. 

5 Years of UX/UI research methods and designing low and high-fidelity prototypes in a platform ecosystem and determining product/market fit. 

Expert level in Design Thinking methodologies and facilitation 

Proven track record of leadership in delivering business technology projects 

An understanding of data management and AI technologies, including machine learning, natural language processing and generative AI 

Strong project management skills, with experience managing large-scale, complex projects from initiation to completion 

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with business and internal stakeholders 

Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex technical challenges and drive solutions 

Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment 

Experience working in a business-facing role, with a proven ability to understand and address business needs and expectations 

Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in AI, design, and data analytics 

Compensation Range: The salary range for this position is between $225,000 - $250,000.

Broadridge is seeking a Manager (Director), Software Engineering to join the Global Technology Organization at Broadridge to lead our Digital Archive engineering teams across North America and India. These teams design, support, and extend Broadridge’s Digital Archive platforms, enabling clients to store and retrieve digital documents efficiently and securely.


As the Engineering Manager, you will oversee day-to-day operations, ensure platform stability, lead project execution, and guide continuous improvement through Agile practices. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong organizational skills, technical knowledge in Perl, Python, and Linux, and the ability to manage distributed teams and client-driven initiatives.


Key Responsibilities


Manage geographically distributed teams supporting the Digital Archive platform.

Oversee the delivery of client projects, ensuring commitments are met on schedule, within scope, and budget.

Coordinate project activities across development, infrastructure, operations, and client-facing teams.

Track and report Agile metrics and project performance to leadership and stakeholders.

Build and maintain cross-functional relationships with other technology and business teams.

Technical and Operational Oversight


Ensure the stability, performance, and scalability of production environments.

Supervise the development and maintenance of Perl and Python scripts that extend and automate functionality (e.g., file ingestion, document output, system integration).

Support incident response and root cause analysis for production issues, driving problem resolution and system resiliency improvements.

Maintain strong awareness of IBM Content Manager OnDemand (CMOD) capabilities and apply that knowledge to optimize platform usage and development practices.

Required Qualifications


Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field

8+ years of experience in software development or application system environments

5+ years of experience leading software engineering or technical support teams

Hands-on experience with IBM Content Manager OnDemand or similar enterprise document management systems

Proficiency with Perl and Python scripting in a Linux environment

Demonstrated experience managing technical projects with distributed teams

Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and metrics (e.g., velocity, sprint deliverables, throughput)

Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills, including cross-team and client-facing interactions

Preferred Qualifications


Experience in financial services or large enterprise environments

Familiarity with Java, DB2, or similar relational database technologies

Experience implementing automation, API integrations, or cloud migration initiatives

Proven success improving platform reliability and operational efficiency
