Mutual of Omaha is seeking an energetic engaged IT professional to
develop and maintain systems in the Investments technical support
environment. Individual will be given the opportunity to learn state of
the art technologies and systems.
Essential Functions
- Develops and supports Investment Management and Investment Accounting applications. Enforces coding standards and performs code reviews with peers. Performs unit, integration, system and Customer Acceptance testing. Coordinates acceptance testing of product and/or vendor application; assists with non-functional testing (performance, security, etc).
- Ability to lead and/or participate in the analysis and design efforts in support of application and business requirements. Understand and design within architectural and systems strategy constraints.
- Understand and apply accepted application development and integration processes in all development activities. Actively participate in efforts to improve existing processes.
- Work closely with customers to resolve problems and escalate issues to management when necessary.
- Perform business application configuration and resource tuning. Responsible for the analysis of systems performance, leading to system updates and recommendations.
- Ability to stay abreast of emerging technology and integration into best practices and apply those best practices in our environment.
- Responsible for additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
- This position requires extensive or prolonged typing/keyboarding
Qualifications
Minimum Job requirements:
3 years experience with Investment, Accounting and/or Financial systems.
5 years experience with relational databases and SQL
Strong communication and problem solving skills
Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes in assignments
Ability to adapt to new technology and business requirements.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with data modeling and data warehouses.
Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio, VB.NET, ASP.NET
Experience with SQL Server or UDB DB2 databases.
Experience with BOE, Erwin , or Informatica
Experience integrating vendor systems into existing environments
Experience in projects with vendor system implementations or upgrades
