Position Description

SunGard’s Global One is an integrated solution for international securities financing, covering the full trade life cycle of principal and agency securities lending and repo transactions. It provides stringent management of collateral restrictions and limits on cash, non-cash and cash-pool collateral to reduce lending risk, as well as multiple level credit limits processing in order to minimize securities finance-specific operational risk. Global One also manages the collection of cash dividends and automation of mandatory corporate actions, reducing the risk of missing critical events that impact the profitability of a trade.

This position is within the Capital Markets Client Services team, supporting live clients using Global One software installed and managed in SunGard datacenters. The client services consultant becomes a dedicated helpdesk contact for one or more clients, collating and prioritising client issues, and internally managing the turnaround of patches and fixes.

Client Services Consultants have strong opportunities for career progression within the company, via team leadership to Account Management, Technical / Business Consultancy or Project Management.

Working with team members from a variety of groups within the organisation, the Client Services Consultant is responsible for processing Client requests and issues in a timely manner. The Client Services Consultant has the responsibility to build and maintain the day-to-day Client relationship by means of daily interactions and participation in planning of infrastructure work with the client.

The job involves researching and replicating software and hardware issues, implementing workarounds and driving issue resolution. The tasks involve server administration, database configuration, scripting and general problem-solving techniques. The work also involves documenting findings and resolutions and communicating them to our clients.

The role involves occasional travel.

* Work with the Client and SunGard application consultants to plan software releases from inception to deployment

* Support deployment of software and batch processes to live servers

* Research and replication of software and hardware issues

* Determine workarounds and issue resolution

* Collection and analysis of stats and data relating to performance

* Build and maintain a good relationship with the Clients’ teams

* Build and maintain technical and application knowledge

* Build a strong knowledge of correct procedures and protocols in relation to managing and supporting live server environments

* Work in a genuinely global role within a global company; the candidate will be working with staff in the US, UK and Asia Pacific offices.

* Build diplomacy and team-working skills working with a large variety of SunGard and Client teams from a variety of backgrounds.



Candidates should have a bachelors degree, or else reasonably equivalent experience or education. The successful candidate will have good interpersonal communication, strong customer service ethos, demonstrable problem solving ability. They will also be self motivated with a strong sense of ownership, an ability to prioritise tasks to maintain client satisfaction, and a desire to see issues through to resolution.

The following is mandatory:

* Experience of supporting live systems or other experience of working with and troubleshooting software in a business setting
* RHEL 6.5 operating system
* UniData DBMS, Perl scripting and CRON scheduling
* Microsoft Windows (advanced level)
* Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
* Basic statistical analysis (Mean, Standard Deviation)

The following is advantageous:

* Financial markets knowledge (especially securities lending)
* Experience of network support and troubleshooting
* Experience of multi-server distributed systems
* Linux and Windows server experience
* French language skills
* XML and SB+ language
