Job Description :

FactSet is looking for highly motivated individuals who want to be part of a team that creates highly scalable, extendable and automated software platform for financial data collection. We believe in empowering our engineers to innovate so we are looking for engineers who question the status quo. Work will include the design and development and maintenance of C# applications on both Web and Windows platforms.

The engineer will work on a wide range of technical areas that include, but are not limited to, real-time data transcription, real-time data distribution, research on SpeechToText technologies; web applications consuming complex web services. The candidate engineer should have a solid background in object oriented development. The job also offers opportunities to grow and provide a massive contribution to team in areas like messaging and SOA.
The Key Areas of Responsibility Include:
- Work with a team of software engineers, both onsite and offshore
- Be a team player. Display emotional intelligence
- Have an interest in continuously improving software development processes
- Have an interest in continuously improving system availability processes
- Maintain, design and develop applications using C#, WPF, WCF and SQL Server
- Maintenance and creation of internal web applications in ASP.NET MVC (C#)
- Improve functionality, scalability, and maintainability of existing systems
- Work with developers and operational staff to gather end-user requirements
Job Requirements :

- Experience working with modern SDLC methodologies, including Agile
- Experience working in a virtual, distributed software engineering team
- Object oriented programming in C#/.NET (4+ years)
- Web application design and development (HTML,JSON,XML, JavaScript, Jquery)
- WPF/WCF
- SQL Server or other relational database knowledge
- Hands-on ability to work independently and produce reliable code
- Proficiency in Visual Studio & Source Control Management Systems

Desired Skills:
- Communications Programming
- Familiarity with AngularJS or similar MV* frameworks
- Experience building business-critical information systems.
- ORM (EF/NHibernate/Dapper.net)
- Test Driven Development ,IOC (Ninject/Autofaq/structuremap)

DEPARTMENT BRIEF

The Content Collection Services team specializes in the development and maintenance of financial data research applications used by internal research analysts globally for the collection of our proprietary content. It is composed of highly talented and motivated individuals, primarily selected from top-tier technical programs around the world.
This position is responsible for creation of both front-end and back-end software solutions and high availability services. It requires planning, design and coordination and would be perfect for somebody passionate about designing and delivering quality software systems with the ability to collaborate across multiple groups and create innovative solutions targeting business problems.
