Department Summary: The Thomson Reuters Equity Risk Model and Asynchronous Security and Portfolio Load team is responsible for generating the exposures, factor returns, covariance matrices, statistical factors and specific risk using complex algorithm and loading vendor and proprietary data that is available to the investment managers for running advanced analytics such as Attribution, Characteristics Profiling, Risk analysis and a host of other operations on their portfolios and common market indices.

Job Duties: This position does not have supervisory responsibility and this job duty is not a supervisory one. For example, the Technical Leader will answer any technical questions and will explain technologies to be used to other members on the team, and will also make any technical decisions that arise in a project.
Responsible for the analysis, definition, design, construction, testing, installation, modification, and maintenance of complex financial products, TR Global Risk Model and Asynchronous Security and Portfolio Loader to meet agreed business needs.

Sole responsibility for designing and architecting the core engine of TR GRM product.

Act as single point of contact for any functional production issues related to TR GRM and ASAP.

Provide technical oversight while writing new functionalities, making modifications to existing modules, or integrating software applications and modules in accordance with agreed upon specifications.

Define and lead overall testing requirements and strategies ensuring TR GRM and ASAP fully meet business, technical and operational requirements.

Explore design options and lead the creation of design to ensure business and technical requirements are met.

Provide technical support to operations teams.

Responsible for the creation, review, and maintenance of all required technical documentation/ manual related to the product to ensure supportability and reuse.

Provide technical leadership for a small team of engineers, including leading the day-to-day activities of the team, and assigning and monitoring results of my team members.
Provide advice to middle management on functional matters, work with product manager to improve the scrum process and prioritization of product backlog.

Act as point of contact and the subject matter expert for the functional and technical issues within the products.

Assist in identification and implementation of short-term and long-term solution options, including risk assessments, and recommendations to business and technology leadership.

Provide work breakdown and estimates for complex software development tasks.

Develop milestones and dependencies for realistic estimates required for work, and validate other team members' estimates.

Coordinate and support related groups, such as but not limited to quality assurance teams, application support teams and operations teams.

Provide timely status updates for areas of team responsibilities within projects to manager, initiating escalation when necessary.

Design and deliver demonstrations of software to business and technical stakeholders.

Research and identify standards and best practices as appropriate for discipline.

Work independently with minimum technical and management guidance, taking ownership of problems within own area of knowledge.

Serve as technical mentor, assess technical skills of team members, and provides/ recommends training/coaching/mentoring.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology or related field. 5 years of creating and maintaining complex, high performance, high availability web services using WCF; 5 years of experience working with cross functional teams; 5 years of writing effective multithreaded code that manages both data and task parallelism; 5 years of experience with Agile software processes including continuous integration builds, automated unit testing, etc; 4 years of experience in developing large and complex solutions using the .NET framework, SQL, and Oracle; 4 years of experience in technically leading and mentoring a team of engineers; 4 years of experience in developing applications for the Financial Market including knowledge of security and reference data, Portfolio Management and Risk Management; 4 years of experience in working with solutions that involves complex mathematics and statistical algorithms; 4 years of experience with investment management and corporate franchise model; 3 years of experience in content migration applications that extract, transform and load reference data from a variety of sources into multiple databases; 3 years of experience in implementing and writing highly parallel algorithms that deal with large amounts of data and several concurrent users with the ability to effectively scale out. Experience may be gained concurrently.

Qualifications

Candidate Profile: Ideal candidates for this position should ably demonstrate the following:

- · 2+ years Force.com development experience, with a strong focus on Apex and Visualforce development.

We are currently looking for Senior Java Developers in the Westchester, NY area to join its rapidly growing Global Services Consulting Practice.

As a key member of the project team this person needs to be very familiar with the Java J2EE development environment and tools as well as having a deep understanding of database and middleware technologies. Srong technical design skills and be familiar with OO design concepts and design patterns. Understand design and implement application data models using  Sybase along with performing code reviews and enforcing technical architecture standards.  You will be expected to code the application framework and architecture to ensure that the development team understands how to use these concepts.



Candidates must have all of the following experience:

Technologies: Core Java/CXF/ Spring, db2, sybase primarily, visual studio, eclipse, perl  .NET, c#, heavy WPF,

• Financial Services background and including exposure to real-time trading systems in equities, F&O or F/X
• Must have 10-15+ years of hands-on programming experience and designing and maintaining software applications

• Must be very proficient in computer science fundamentals and their implementation in Java, including concurrency, data structures & algorithms

• Exposure to project work with CEP and/or distributed caching technologies helpful (Coherence, Gigaspaces, etc…)
• Previous experience with developing high-volume Java trading interfaces in AWT, Swing and/or SWT also a plus, but not required
