Let’s be clear. We aren’t looking for someone who thinks they might be good at this. We are looking for someone who is already working at this level.
Our industry is travel and commercial aviation. Our company is Sabre Airline Solutions. We are the industry leader in airline technology, with a vast portfolio of over 100 sophisticated applications. Can you handle that?
In this position, you will join a kind of SWAT team collaborating across the Airline Solutions product portfolio, providing thought leadership in design and strategy in alignment with AS technology standards at the GUI layer. The team defines UI standards and executes the GUI technology strategy. This often involves training and hands-on coaching with different product development teams, some of which are migrating from legacy platforms to current technologies. You will provide expert counsel and leadership in implementing best practices in architecture and UI development, find alternative approaches as barriers arise, and support the development of a shared UI component library. To succeed you must be current and stay current with emerging GUI technologies, frameworks, tools, and techniques and lead the way forward as Airline Solutions expands its portfolio for tablets and mobile devices.

Qualifications:
  • Education: BS (MS preferred) in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years current professional experience in GUI development, and at least 8 years total software development experience.

Skills:
• Deep-knowledge of at least one Object Oriented language (e.g. Java, C#).
• Strong OO analysis, design, and development skills required.
• Expert-level knowledge of client architecture and development.
• Expert-level knowledge of contemporary GUI technologies, including HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3.
• Demonstrated ability to write elegant, clean, reusable, test-driven code.
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Backbone.js, AngularJS) will be valuable.
• Knowledge of GUI testing technologies and techniques (e.g. Selenium, Jasmine) preferred.
• Experience with Agile / XP, TDD, BDD, IntelliJ, and Subversion also valuable.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects and coordinate with multiple internal customers.
