Job Description :
The Quality Assurance Engineer works within the Quality Team on all
stages of the software development lifecycle. Duties include:
A strong analytical mindset and excellent attention to detail is essential.
This role has arisen as a result of an internal promotion and will be based in our Wokingham office, but there will be an occasional requirement to work in our Head Office in London.
The majority of our work is data-centric, and as such a solid knowledge of SQL and the ability to work with spreadsheets and large data sets is essential: specific knowledge of Oracle’s tools and technologies (PL/SQL, SQL Developer) is an advantage.
- Reviewing proposal documents for consistency and correctness
- Work with Account Managers and Business Analysts to produce functional specifications and define acceptance criteria
- Work with the Development Team to enhance quality and testing procedures
- Participation in code and procedure reviews
- Generation of test plans, cases and data
- Execute and report on test plans
- Measure and enhance internal quality processes

Job Requirements :
- Excellent eye for detail
- Methodical approach
- Strong knowledge of SQL for database querying/investigation
- Basic use of Microsoft Office products (Excel and Word in particular)
- Oracle PL/SQL
- Basic UNIX command-line knowledge
- Understanding of at least one scripting language (i.e. Perl, Shell, Python…)
- Knowledge of automated testing tools
- Java / JUnit
