- Provides 3rd level support for all client computing devices, applications, and services to facilitate effective and timely problem resolution.
- Works in conjunction with Enterprise Support partners to identify persistent client device and application issues. Develops solutions to proactively address issues to enhance user productivity, reduce call volumes and total cost of ownership.
- Participates in, and develops environment monitoring to ensure compliance with licensing, security, and configuration requirements.
- Recommends, designs, and implements approved environment modifications to ensure effective resource utilization, performance, and cost effectiveness of Paychex end user computing environment.
- Recommends, develops, and implements approved standards, policies, processes, and procedures that ensure a stable, secure, and cost effective end user computing environment.
- Develops and implements hardware and software delivery services and implementation processes for the enterprise. Recommends to management and program teams, and implements approved, process improvements and modifications to streamline provisioning of services, reduce delivery times, reduce support incidents, and lower overall cost of services.
- Administers all Desktop related management systems such as. Systems Management Server, Symantec Anti-Virus, Wise Package Studio, and related infrastructures. Develops all related processes and procedures used to manage, administer, and monitor environment.
- Monitors and maintains all Desktop related management systems and end user environments to ensure maximum availability, performance, and effectiveness. Recommends to management and program teams, and implements approved, process improvements and modifications to ensure a highly secure, stable, and user friendly desktop computing experience.
- Acts as project lead for various enterprise, business unit, or departmental projects and initiatives to facilitate successful implementation of desktop related activities
- Develops and performs the testing of new hardware to ensure compliance with all standards, policies, and related processes. Recommends to management and program teams, and implements approved, process improvements and modifications to streamline processes, improve delivery times, reduces overall resource commitments and costs.
- Develops and implements test and management processes for software deployment packages using Wise Package Studio or Microsoft Systems Management Server. Makes recommendations to the program teams and management, and implements approved, process improvements and modifications that enable user productivity, system stability and security, and reduce overall costs of ownership.
- Develops, tests, and manages hardware, software, and policy implementation processes. Recommends to management, and implements approved, process improvements and modifications that enable user productivity, system stability and security, and reduce overall costs of ownership.
- Mentors and trains team members and support staff to share technical knowledge and skill sets with junior level team members.
- Continues skills development and investigation of new technologies to further enhance effectiveness of the individual, team, and organization in accomplishment of stated goals.
Qualifications
BA/BS in Computer Science or related field is required with 7 or more years of technical information technology experience.
Experience Must Include:
- Hands on experience installing, configuring, managing, and troubleshooting using Enterprise level tools
- Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003, or related technologies
- Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, 2000, XP, and Vista
- Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems, 2000, 2003
- Microsoft Office Suite(s)
- Enterprise level Anti-virus, Personal Firewall, and Data Encryption technologies
- Microsoft Active Directory management and administration, including OUs, Groups, GPOs, software delivery, software and hardware configuration and security
- Enterprise level management of Microsoft Internet Explorer
- Strong skills in a minimum of two scripting tools (Windows PowerShell, ADSI, VBS, etc)
- Programming skills in Visual Basic, XML, or other programming language
- Experience with software packaging tools, Wise Package Studio preferred
- Experience implementing and managing Thin Client computing environments
- Experience with Hardware and Application Virtualization, VMWare and Microsoft Softgrid Preferred
- Strong mobile technology management skills, wireless networking, and related technologies
