Department Summary: Americas Collection Technology group comprises several teams who are responsible for the development of real-time systems that collect data from Exchanges in the US, Canada and Latin America; this data is critical to hundreds of thousands of customers around the globe. The group makes 1000+ software releases each year to support the constant changes demanded by both customers and exchanges alike. The position is in the Commodities team. The person will focus primarily on C++ Software Development and maintenance on Windows for Elektron, IDN and Reuters Data Feed Direct Projects. The positions will involve object oriented design and development with a heavy focus on software performance. These projects involve the collection and normalization of financial data for fast, real-time data systems.

Job Duties:
- Write new software/modify existing software utilizing TCP/UDP communications, using Visual Studio C++, standard templates, Boost etc., or integrate software in accordance with the agreed upon specifications, created in partnership with others using Agile methodologies and similar software engineering techniques such as CMMI, XP.
- Create and execute unit testing using standard unit test frameworks, including UnitTest++ and integration testing ensuring software meets requirements
- Lead the design or contribute to the design of components.
· May provide technical support to Operations or other development teams.
· Interface with the Business Analysts and Technical Team Leads to ensure the proper requirements are understood and being met
· Interface with QA to ensure the application performs as, or better, than expected.
· Aid in the preparation of status updates for projects.
· Make moderate to complex modifications to existing software applications utilizing modern libraries and modules such as Boost and Templates library, in accordance with written specifications and financial industry protocols such as FIX, FIX/FAST, ITC, ITCH.
- Investigate software issues by debugging the software using Visual Studio and WinDbg.
· Create, review, and maintain all required technical documentation/ manual related to assigned software to ensure supportability and reuse.
· Assist with improvements to prevent problems, including problem resolution workflow.
· Participate in project planning sessions with team members to analyze development requirements, provide design options, and provide work breakdown and estimates of work.
· Develop software using disciplined software development processes, adhering to team/company standards and software best practice guidelines, and corporate policies.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related. 3 years of professional C++ development experience. 3 years of experience with formal software development lifecycle (such as Agile, CMMI, XP) 3 years development experience in each of the following : Windows, Visual Studio, WinDbg and modern libraries (such as Boost, Templates Library); Developing real time applications that demonstrate good understanding of programming and troubleshooting techniques ; Financial market protocols such as FIX, FIX/FAST, ITC, ITCH; Network protocols such as UDP and TCP; Integrate test framework UnitTest++ into software development. 3 years of experience working as the lead developer in projects that involved: Written and oral communications with several groups having diverse knowledge and background; Analyzing, validating, and following written requirements ; Preparing software design from scratch; Assisting other developers or groups; Managing and implementing projects as a whole or as subcomponents; Testing the code, including performance testing; Providing and following project timelines; Analyzing and investigating customer requests.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 7+ years Software Development/Engineering experience.
- Expert with ASP.NET MVC and Razor
- Strong Oracle development experience

Overview

Americas Collection Technology group comprises several teams who are responsible for the development of real-time systems that collect data from exchanges in the US, Canada and Latin America; this data is critical to hundreds of thousands of customers around the globe. The group makes 1000+ software releases each year to support the constant changes demanded by both customers and exchanges alike.
The position will focus primarily on C++ Software Development on Windows. The positions will involve object oriented design and development with a heavy focus on software performance.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Complete the objectives of each assignment (typically project tasks)
- Participate in project planning sessions with team members to analyse development requirements and occasionally work with project teams to define scope for each project
- To develop and integrate applications per written specifications. May also be responsible for writing design specifications
- To translate technical requirements into application code and modules
- Interface with the Business Analysts and Technical Team Leads to ensure the proper requirements are understood and being met
- Interface with QA to ensure the application performs as, or better, than expected
- To aid in the preparation of status updates for projects
- Make moderate to complex modifications to existing software applications and modules in accordance with written specifications and industry standards
- Develop software application modules using disciplined software development processes
- Perform unit tests on applications written by self and others
- Write additional unit tests for new functional requirements
- Take part in reviews of own work. Take part in reviews of the work of colleagues

Qualifications
